We are serious about the quality of ingredients and the authenticity of our dishes. But proof is worth a thousand words. The Mexican Embassy, together with the Academia Mexicana de Gastronomía, awarded us the SELLO M 2026-2028 certificate - a prestigious award for businesses that represent authentic Mexican cuisine abroad. Only a handful of restaurants in the Czech Republic have received this recognition.
But back to the kitchen. A Mexican kitchen must have a comal - a large flat metal pan. Historically, it was made of ceramic, but today, especially in restaurants, a plancha - a large flat grill plate - is more practical. This is what it looks like under Alejandro's hands when he prepares your order.
Salsa is an integral part of Mexican cuisine, which is why we take great care in preparing it. You can choose from 4 levels of spiciness, but you don't have to be afraid of the spicier ones. We care about taste, not about you running to the fridge for milk with red eyes. You can have it with food, but you can also have it at home from a glass that you can buy at the bar.
We try to spread Mexican cuisine outside the restaurant walls. In winter we are at Christmas markets and you can celebrate the holidays with our sweets - churros & buñuelos. During the year you might find us at some festival and if you talk your boss into it, you can have Ilegal catering at a company party.
Building a restaurant from scratch is hard work, and without you, we wouldn't be where we are today. Thanks for coming back, supporting us, and forgiving us for the occasional mistake. We're only human, after all. Well, maybe except for Alejandro.
